Bogen/Manfrotto Expan Drive Roller System
The Expan Drive System is one of the most versatile component background
support systems available for seamless paper and other lightweight muslin
and canvas backgrounds (we do not recommend the Expan drive system for
canvas backgrounds weighing more than 15lbs) It can be permanently mounted
to a wall or ceiling, or mounted to telescoping auto-poles for portable use.
The Expan drive unit uses a hanging chain to raise and lower the
background. The white "fingers" of the unit insert inside the cardboard
core (when using seamless paper backgrounds) or inside an aluminum core
(for canvas and muslin), and expand using the knob on the end of the
unit to grip the core.
All of the components in the Expan Drive System are available for
purchase in permanent mount or portable kits, or separately. Note - for
hanging canvas or muslin backgrounds with the expan system - the kits do
not include aluminum cores. Purchase them separately using the
components menu below.
